Ardrossan is renowned for the abundance of blue swimmer crabs, a seafood delicacy enjoyed by people who visit Ardrossan during the season- September through to April.

Visitors may enjoy a relaxing days fishing from the jetty which is situated only a few minutes walk from the caravan park. An excellent boat ramp is available, and during the season snapper, Mulloway, whiting, shark and salmon are caught in good numbers, while from the jetty, Tommy Ruff, Garfish, Snook, Mulloway, and whiting provide many an enjoyable meal.

Approximately 10 nautical miles south east of Ardrossan lies the wreck of the Zanoni, acknowledged as one of the most interesting wrecks in south Australian waters. Permission to dive must first be obtained from the authorities.
